Bardia National Park:

Bardia is also a popular destination for nature lovers especially if you enjoy bird watching, it is situated in the far west of Nepal and is mainly an area of extensive jungle covered by sal, riverine forest and grassland. A boat ride on the slow moving expanse of the Karnali River provides plenty of opportunities to view a vast variety of birds, including ruddy shelduck, darters, brahmini kites, brown headed gulls, cormorants, oriental pied hornbills, night and purple heron, cinnaon bitterns, orioles and majestic peacocks.Bardia National Park is located in Nepal’s western plain lands, east of the Karnali River, covering an area of 968 sq.km. It is the largest and most undisturbed protected area in the Terai, home to many endangered species including tiger, wild elephant, rhinoceros, swamp deer, blackbuck, gharial crocodile, marsh mugger crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. The enchanting birds found here are Bengal florican, lesser florican, Silver-eared mesia and Sarus Crane. The national park is full of open grasslands and glades ‘making it an ideal place for game-viewing.It is also one of the only a few places where it is possible to fish for Masher, a large game fish.

 

Day 01: Upon your arrival, our staff from the Lodge will receive you. You will then be transferred to Rhino Lodge (88k.m) where you will be offered refreshment & be given a briefing about the programs. At 15.00 Village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu Village where you will learn more about the life and lifestyle of the Tharus. Dinner at 20.00

Day 02: Wake up call 06.00
Breakfast 06.30 At 07.30 Elephant Ride. An excellent opportunity to see Asian Elephant, Great One Horn Rhinoceros, Spotted Deer or Chital, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Nilgai, or Bull, Black Buck, Wild Boar, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Wild Dog, Golden Jackal, Striped Hyena. You will also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Bardia their home. Visit to Visitor Center, Crocodile Breeding Center and Tharu Cultural Museum.
At 13.00 Lunch.

Around 15.00 Jungle Walk. An excellent opportunity to see the wild animals, small mammals, birds, and waits in the Tower (Machan) to have the wild sightseeing, accompanied by our experienced naturalists, and wildlife tracker. Excellent photographic opportunities are plentiful.

19.00 Tharu Culture dance

Day 03: Wake up call 06.00
Breakfast 06.30
At 07.00 Visit to Karnali river for Dolphin sightseeing
Lunch at 12.30. Around 13.30 Drive or fly back to Kathmandu
